Mr. David A. Wells


Director of Athletic Bands


Professor David A. Wells is currently the director of the Keith Stein Blue Thunder Marching Band at Boise State University and drill director of the Pearl City High School Band of Honolulu, HI which lead the 1996 Tournament of Roses Parade. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree form Ashland University and a Master of Music Education Degree from VanderCook College of Music.

Professor Wells has served as guest conductor, performer and producer at nationally acclaimed events such as, producer of the "Best of the West" high school honor band which appeared in the nationally televised Orange Bowl Parade and performed in Disney World in Orlando, FL; guest conductor and performer of the Pearl City High School Wind Symphony at the World's Largest Band Convention, the National Midwest Band and Orchestra clinic in Chicago; and producer of the Hall of Fame Bowl, Florida (1987), the Holiday Bowl, California (1988), the Blue Bonnet Bowl, Louisiana (1986), NFL/AFL Pro Bowl, Hawaii (1985- Present), and the Humanitarian Bowl, Idaho (2001-Present). In addition, Professor Wells has served as adjudicator and guest conductor for concert and marching festivals throughout the United States.

Professor Wells was awarded the Medal of Honor from the National Mid West Band Clinic as Director of the Lexington Junior and Senior High Schools, Ohio (1971).
