Thaddeus Michael Marks

"Freedom without discipline is chaos; discipline without freedom is tyranny."

Thaddeus Marks is a junior Spanish major with a minor in sociology. He was born on June 7, 1981, in Honolulu, lived most of his life in Meridian, ID, and graduated from Meridian High School.

He plays tenor saxophone in the Keith Stein Blue Thunder Marching Band and the men's basketball pep band, and tries his hand at percussion in the All-Campus Concert Band. He is the secretary of the colony, and served as the Blue Thunder band secretary in 2001-2002.

Thaddeus has been active in the Army National Guard for three years and acts as a translator for the Mexico Mission team at his church. He is also a youth leader at his church. Thaddeus is an alumnus of the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine and is a recipient of the Army Achievement Medal.

In the interest of full disclosure, it bears mentioning that Thaddeus has a definite predilection for navy blue boxer briefs, which he doesn't mind flashing whenever he gets the chance. He enjoys dancing, critiquing movies, and discussing politics when not working as a correctional medical specialist at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution. When he grows up, Thaddeus would like to be a physician's assistant for a non-profit medical organization in Latin America.
